Running a forum for discussion
How hard do you think it is today to get a new forum off the ground to a good start. To me at least... it seems really hard these days trying to get people to join a new forum board started up, very hard indeed and wondering what others think about it also. Do you think it's worth starting a new forum up for discussion with all the many different social networking sites around?

it is very difficult trying to run a forum especially a new one. trying to get people to join and be active is not like it was twenty years ago. i do think at some point forums will make a comeback

A forum still provides the best way to have some detailed proper discussion on the web with other people that is far more in-depth than any social networking site offers.

Social media is good if you do something like run a business and want to promote it on the web.
It does work well for that sort of thing. While a forum is useless for it.
